Title: Neuro SIG - Dementia Friends Information Session

Course Description: Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act and talk about dementia. The goal of the program is to educate communities across the Commonwealth about dementia, break down stigma surrounding dementia, and encourage individuals to implement practical changes to best support people living with dementia. Become a Dementia Friend and learn how you can join the Dementia Friendly Pennsylvania initiative!

After this session, participants will be able to:

1. Describe dementia.
2. Identify the most common type of dementia.
3. Recognize five key messages about dementia.
4. Apply communication techniques with someone living with dementia.
5. List at least one personal action to commit to in the next year.
