Title: Geriatric SIG - Traumatic Brain Injury in the Geriatric Population: Why We Need to Reconsider Approach to "Falls Prevention"

Speaker: Nanami Mano, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy

Course Description: There’s a lack of evidence in the literature regarding rehabilitation management in the moderate to severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) population, let alone in the geriatric population. This webinar will focus on the considerations in the older adult population after suffering a moderate to severe TBI while incorporating evidence in physical therapy management in TBI in younger populations as well as geriatric rehabilitation. Additionally, methods on how we can approach “falls prevention” by preparing older adults for subsequent falls in the future will be discussed.
