The attendee is introduced to key terms and definitions of visual impairment in children. The speaker will explore the relationship between vision loss, learning, and movement in the young child with an emphasis on the factors influencing mobility.

More About the Speaker:
My name is Scott Myers. I am a native Bostonian and I attended the physical therapy programs at Northeastern University and Simmons College in Boston. I worked as a PT at the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston for 13 years. I relocated to PA in 2005 and have been employed by the Schreiber Pediatric Center and IU13 in Lancaster County. I currently teach a graduate course in vision and disability at UMass Boston. I began teaching this on campus in 1997 and this class was transitioned to the current online format when I relocated to PA. I currently serve as a guest lecturer and lab assistant in the physical therapy program at Lebanon Valley College.
