Course Title: How to Manage Patient and Provider PTSD During a Pandemic presented by Alexandra Milspaw, Ph.D.

Course Description:
Now, more than ever before in our lifetime, the entire world is experiencing various levels of trauma and stress simultaneously. This didactic and experiential course will briefly review the neurobiology of trauma and stress and how this affects pain processing, cognitive functioning, and emotional regulation. Dr. Milspaw will explain and demonstrate mindfulness-based brain exercises that restore the changes that occur within the brain and nervous system. She will also review fast, effective, and easy-to-learn exercises that can be useful in any healthcare environment.

Alexandra T. Milspaw, Ph.D., is a licensed professional counselor and AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist with a private practice in Bethlehem, PA. She is a Certified 4-D Wheel Practitioner within the 4-D Network (www.4-dnetwork.com). She is certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Consulting Hypnosis, and the Explain Pain Education from the Neuro-Orthopeadic Institute of Australia. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member and the Co-Chair of the Clinical Foundations Course for the International Pelvic Pain Society.
