Speaker Bios: Kelsey Hollenbach and Gino Cannon are both Physical Therapists and recent alumni of Misericordia University, graduating with the class of 2019. Kelsey has always had a passion for working with older adults while Gino is passionate about orthopedics. While students at Misericordia, they decided to combine their interests of both Geriatrics and Orthopedics and perform data collection on “The Relationship Between Trunk Strength and Functional Mobility Indicators in Community-Dwelling Older Adults.” They were joined by two other physical therapy students and were mentored by Dr. Laurie Brogan and Dr. Kristen Karnish. Their research was accepted for poster presentation at the APTA NEXT conference in Phoenix, Arizona where they will attend in June of this year. Kelsey currently works as an Acute Care Physical Therapist and Gino works as an Outpatient Physical Therapist. They both attended CSM in 2019 in Washington, DC where they attended a course by Dr. Chris Childers called “Can Treating Geriatrics be Sexy?” Today’s presentation is inspired by and based on the information they learned from Dr. Childer.
