Course Description:
Healthcare for incarcerated individuals is an area with its own set of unique challenges. This course will explore important contributors to inmate health status, identify current healthcare coverage for incarcerated individuals, and describe the current functional status of previously incarcerated individuals. In addition, the relationship between health and recidivism will be analyzed. Finally, the specific role of physical therapy in promoting the health and well-being of incarcerated and post-incarcerated individuals will be described.
