About the Speaker: Rachel graduated from Saint Francis University with her DPT in 2018, and immediately entered a Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency at Washington University in Saint Louis, MO. After completing the residency in August of 2019, she moved back to Pennsylvania and since then, has worked for both Lancaster General Health and Penn State Health treating exclusively pelvic health related conditions. She received her Women’s Health Specialty Certification in July 2021. She is passionate about helping women optimize their function through movement pattern re-training and comprehensive patient education.

Course Description: This course will explain principles of pelvic health physical therapy of which all physical therapists should be aware and understand. Anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor musculature will be reviewed, as well as these structures relationship to core and hip musculature. General explanations of certain assessment and treatment techniques will be taught, and participants will be taught how to screen for the need for referral to a pelvic health physical therapist, as well as how to locate pelvic health physical therapists in a specific area.
