Topic: Exploring the Complexities of Functional Movement Disorders Description: This course will discuss the history of Functional neurologic disorders (FND) and Functional movement disorders (FMD) and the remaining stigma about this patient population. It will discuss the current diagnostic criteria including the use of a diagnostic algorithm that is utilized to aid in the differential diagnosis and positive diagnosis of FMD. The multi-disciplinary treatment plan with an emphasis on physical therapy is reviewed and then supported through a presentation of a case study involving a case of potential Functional movement disorder presenting with tremors and rigidity in the outpatient setting.
