Licensure Renewal FAQ

  • Licensure renewal for PT and PTAs is every two ears on years ending in even numbers.
  • Currently due Dec. 31, 2018: there are online applications and you should have received an email from the PA State Board of Physical Therapy with the link to apply or renew your license. If not, you can go to the PA State Board to access the link.
  • There is still a fee for the license.
  • You still need to maintain the correct liability insurance. More details for the state license can be found on the State Board of Physical Therapy.

ALL contact hours mentioned MUST be pre-approved by the PA State Board of Physical Therapy:

  • Any course offered by PPTA or APTA that relates to clinical content is approved for PA.
  • Full list is on PA State Board of PT site.
