APTA PA Student SIG: Trauma-Informed Care for the Rehabilitation Specialist

Join the APTA PA Student SIG for a virtual webinar and Q&A about Trauma Informed Care. Patients are seeking out Trauma-Informed Providers who are capable of individualizing treatment, prioritizing patient physical, emotional, and psychological safety, and reducing the risk of re-traumatization. Learn about how we can support survivors of trauma with guest speaker Dr. Noa Goodman, PT, DPT, WCS, CLT-LANA. 

Dr. Goodman will review the definition of Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care. Using the tenets of Trauma-Informed Care, students will be more equipped to support survivors of trauma. Dr. Goodman will discuss the prevalence of trauma, provide screening tools, resources, and a call to action for the Physical Therapy Community to make Trauma-Informed Care the Standard of Care.
