Course Title: Medical Cannabis – Overview of the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program presented by Lou Giannotti, Rph

Location: In-person - Widener University - Cottee Hall | 1604 Walnut St. Chester, PA 19013
via Zoom (Please indicate if you will attend in-person or virtually when registering)

Course Description:
Cannabis has been approved for medical conditions in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program has 51,244 patients of which 28,125 have received a medical marijuana card and will be able to buy marijuana to treat two dozen conditions. Twenty-eight dispensaries have opened across the state. Patients who attend physical therapy are reporting using cannabis, which needs to be addressed as part of the system review during the physical examination. Many therapists have limited exposure to the effects on patients. This educational session introduces this modality to clinicians to assist in understanding the effects on the plan of care and for pain management.
