"The Amputee Patient: Preparing for the Prosthesis" presented by Laura Teshke, PT, DPT and Sue Wheeler, PT

The presentation will review the VA/DOD clinical practice guidelines for the amputee patient, therapy goals for the patient during the pre-prosthetic phase including heal incision, medical stabilization, shape of the residual limb, ROM/Strength deficits, independence with mobility, pain management, DME needs and education, and also K-levels to determine optimal prosthesis will be reviewed.
